Devin Porch — Co‑Founder & Lead Designer
Born to two electrical engineers in Houston, Texas, I spent much of my childhood moving from place to place. Through all that change, one thing stayed constant: I loved being outside! Nature became grounding for me from an early age, and served as a place of steadiness and curiosity.
Gardening became both a creative outlet and a source of calm during grad school, especially during intense periods of study. That passion remained as I started my career working with previously incarcerated individuals to help them find meaningful employment. It became especially important during pregnancy and through postpartum depression. Working with soil, seeds, and living things helped me heal, stay present, and reconnect with myself while raising our family.
My 10+ years of gardening guided AppleSeed's creation. To me, it's more than an app. It's an invitation for people to share what they have and grow alongside their neighbors.
Ronald Porch — Co‑Founder
AppleSeed was born from my two favorite things: Gardening, and hanging out with my husband.
Ronald was born and raised in Plaquemine, Louisiana, just outside of Baton Rouge. We met in high school at a marine biology summer camp at LSU. 16 years later, we got married, and now raise our two kiddos together in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Ronald has spent over 10 years working as a software developer, building reliable, thoughtful technology with a strong focus on problem-solving and long-term impact. His technical experience and steady approach make him the backbone of AppleSeed's development.
